Our Specialties and Features

The development goals of this department:

 

    The professional education of this department focuses on the combination and application of environmental technology and management. Through the teaching process of the University of Science and Technology of "learning by doing, learning by doing" during the learning process, it leads students to gain insights into industry needs and deepen environmental professional education. 
    1. Promote solid education and cultivate environmental elites: Strengthen students' professional training in environmental management and green resources, encourage and coach students to participate in professional training courses and obtain certificates, so as to increase their future employment opportunities.
    2. Establish the main characteristics and lay out the cornerstones of environmental management: actively arrange for students to conduct outdoor teaching and multimedia teaching so that they can combine the natural human environment with professional knowledge of environmental management and deepen their learning effect.
    3. Carry forward the spirit of innovation and expand academic exchanges: Encourage teachers to offer innovative and creative courses, use interactive teaching, and train students’ independent thinking habits and expression skills. Conduct academic exchanges and cooperation with internationally renowned universities to achieve technology transfer and enhance international visibility.
    4. Abide by environmental ethics and care for the environment and ecology: implement good relationships with environmental protection groups, provide professional technical consultation and establish joint cooperative relationships. We care about the development of local environmental protection and take the initiative to undertake regional environmental protection briefings and seminars.

 

 

Our Teachers' research and development achievements:


    Our teachers' R&D includes academic and technical researches by the Ministry of Science and Technology and other government departments, industry-university cooperation and industrial services and other related technical education and training, cooperation and technology transfer, publication of journals and domestic and foreign papers, patent application, technology transfer and authorization, etc. Relevant achievements include the following aspects:


    1.Obtaining patents, technological transfers, authorizations, and performance of innovations:
    In the 105-107 academic year, 50 teachers in this department have applied for 28 patents. The patent fields include wastewater treatment, cleaning and sterilization, and waste regeneration, etc., and a total of 28 patents have been approved.
    2.The situation of the teachers' professional practical experience and participation in domestic and foreign research or seminars (studies):
    Teachers in this department actively improve their professional academic ability, strengthen teaching quality and research capacity. In the 2010-107 academic year, teachers participated in academic activities at home and abroad, among which a total of 674 people participated in advanced study activities. As for academic seminars, they are divided into domestic and foreign. For the second category of international seminars, the former has a total of 76 person-times, while the latter has 11 person-times. Teachers in this department have participated in relevant academic activities for 87 times in three years, and each teacher participated in an average of 1.9 academic activities per year.
    3.The publication of teachers' professional journal papers, seminar papers, monographs and exhibitions:
    Journal papers, seminar papers or monographs published by teachers of the department, among which journal papers are mainly published in well-known SCI journals, such as Environmental Science and Technology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Biotechnology, Chemosphere, J. Environ. Eng. Manage., Journal of Environmental Management, Journal of Environmental Quality, Ecological Economics, Atmospheric Environment, Environmental Pollution, etc., accumulated 63 papers in related journals in the 105-107 academic year, with an average of 1.5 papers published per teacher per year.
    Due to the active participation of teachers in various academic conferences in order to improve relevant academic standards and practical experience, relevant domestic and foreign academic seminar papers were published in the 2010-107 school year. On average, each teacher published 1.9 seminar papers per year, such as the discussion of the corresponding author. The number of conference papers is 3.4, which shows that the teachers of this department are actively engaged in academic activities and are widely recognized for their academic excellence. In the 105~107 academic year, one teacher in this department participated in the compilation of the special book.
